New tshirt design by Revolting Mass, this design was inspired by an older stencil design of Revolting Mass's. He realised that much more detail could be included in a screen print than in a stencil, so decided to improve this previous and popular design. Initally screen printed onto massive 1.4m by 1m pieces of paper (these limited edition prints are available from his website www.revoltingmass.com ).
The Fuck the System, Liberate Yourself screen print is a subvert of a famous photo taken of American troops raising an American flag at the end of the second world war. It suggests that anarchy might be a truer freedom than swapping one corrupt hierarchy for another. Whether a fascist dictatorship or a free market capitalist democracy, in a hierarchial system the power is always held by a minority, even if people believe that they have a say.
Anarchy as a political system is a very misunderstood term, due to mis-representation in the media, many people believing it to mean chaos, this isnt the case, infact its meaning is very loose (same as the term 'hierarchy' covers alot of different systems), but the general meaning is that there isnt a hierarchy and that all decisions are made by general consensus or participation of everyone involved (for example a referendum government could be a type of anarchist government suitable for a large population.)
